Gripwire Applications
Service: Product design, strategy, Ui, visual design, development
In 2007 I co-founded a startup called Gripwire. For two years we designed and developed iPhone applications, and Facebook applications, often creating both for the same client and carrying the branding across the experiences. I left Gripwire in 2009 to move on to other opportunities.
Amplitude
Amplitude is a fun application that enables users to amplify audio from around their surroundings. By enabling users to adjust the volume/gain on their microphones the iPhone has been turned into a high-tech listening device capable of picking up the sound of animal heartbeats, distant conversations, and a host of other sounds that you might never have noticed.
iHearClear
iHearClear is one of the first iPhone applications in the iTunes App Store to make use of microphone gain. By amplifying the sounds around you, iHearClear helps improve your ability to hear in difficult situations. The application is a snap to use. Simply launch the iHearClear application and hold the end of your iPhone towards the sounds you want to amplify. Large on-screen controls enable you easily adjust the volume and microphone sensitivity.
Average Joe Wine Reviews
Search, browse, discover, and share wines with friends without all the attitude. This is a wine application for you and me, average joes. Save your wines to your cellar (Favorite Wines, Wines I Want to Try, Wines I've Tried), read reviews, rate wines, and view the profiles of other users. This is a full-featured application that makes finding, recommending, or buying a wine while away from the PC a breeze.
The Average Joe Wine Reviews iPhone application is a complex and multi-page application. There were a number of challenging interface and interaction issues that had to be solved to create the final compelling result.
